I am an Industrial Design Engineering student with a more specific interest in products that are smart on the inside, but still appealing and functional on the outside. My main interests inside the study are the engineering and technology side, with a strong interest in the (cognitive) ergonomics.

To further explore my interests, I followed a minor on BioRobotics, where we focussed on using EMG signals as an input, to fully create our own robot from scratch. After this I followed an Industry 4.0 minor to explore the field of IoT, AI and automation of production processes all while taking human ergonomics in to account from a technical perspective.

In my free time, my interests can show in my hobby project in which I like to program, use electronics and my own 3D-printer to create whatever sparks my curiosity at that moment, without forgetting to also make it look nice!

In addition to my study, I took a year off to do a board year at my study association S.G. Daedalus, where I held the roles of Chairman and Officer of Internal Affairs. This taught me skills like leadership, professional representation (managing relationships between the association, the university, and other external parties) and planning by keeping track of when activities take place and overseeing long-term projects.

Through a successful high school (Technasium) project for ICH, I was offered the position of Junior Engineer. In this position I worked on various tasks like doing research on a project's viability through reading papers, supporting the development of a new product and developing the embedded software for the working prototype.

Student for a Day Mentor

University of Twente

In my first year of studying Industrial Design Engineering, I took high school students on a 'Student For a Day' Experience. This comprised of a tour of the University of Twente Campus, explanation on what the study is about through first-hand experience and being taken to one or more actual lectures I was following at that moment.

At Micronit, I worked as a Junior Cleanroom operator. Here I supported in the production of a microfluidics product as well as with general tasks.

Chairman and Officer of Internal Affairs

S.G. Daedalus

After 2,5 years of following my bachelor’s in Industrial Design Engineering and being active in its Study Association, I applied for a board year at S.G. Daedalus. Here I got the functions Chairman and Officer of Internal Affairs. The function of Chairman made me responsible for the professional relation of the association with the university and other parties. As the Officer of Internal Affairs my priorities laid in staying in touch with the members and managing the year planning. In this board-year, I learned about leadership, representation and planning by running the association as well as doing some projects for the association like setting up the new website.
